Introduction

Welcome to Scoop. This Privacy Policy explains how Acrelane Enterprises (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Scoop mobile application (“App”). Scoop is an educational reading app designed for children and young learners.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of all our users, especially children. We collect the minimum amount of data necessary for the app to function. This policy complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable privacy laws.

What we DO collect

We collect only what’s necessary to make the app work:

Anonymous identifier	A random ID (UUID) to save your progress — this cannot identify you personally
Username	A display name you choose — this is NOT your real name and cannot identify you
Reading level preference	To show you stories at the right difficulty
Avatar preference	To personalise your experience
Reading history	To track which stories you’ve read and your progress
Vocabulary progress	To remember which words you’ve learned

What we DO NOT collect

We deliberately do not collect:

No real names (usernames are fictional display names only)
No email addresses
No passwords
No location or IP addresses
No device identifiers
No photos, videos, or audio
No contact lists
No browsing history
No third-party analytics or tracking

How we use information

We use the information we collect only to:

Save your reading progress
Show you age-appropriate content
Track vocabulary words you’ve learned
Maintain your reading streaks
Fix crashes and technical issues (anonymised crash reports only)

We do NOT use your data for:

Advertising or marketing
Selling to third parties
Behavioural profiling
Contacting you

Children’s privacy (COPPA compliance)

Scoop is designed for children, and we take extra precautions to protect young users:

Minimal data collection

We only collect anonymous data that cannot identify your child
No personal information is required to use the app
We use the COPPA “internal operations” exception for crash reporting

No advertising

The app contains no advertising whatsoever
We do NOT share any data with advertisers
We do NOT track users for advertising purposes

Safe environment

No social features, chat, or messaging
No user-generated content
No way to share personal information
No external links to websites

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information.

We use these service providers to operate the app:

All providers are contractually required to protect data and use it only for providing their services.

No collection of sensitive personal information

How to delete your data

You can delete all your data at any time:

In the app: Go to Profile > Delete Account
By email: Send a request to privacy@getyourscoop.com

When you delete your account:

All reading progress is permanently deleted
All vocabulary data is permanently deleted
Your anonymous identifier is deleted
This action cannot be undone

Data retention

Reading progress is kept while you use the app
If you delete the app, your data remains on our servers
You can request deletion at any time (see above)
Crash logs are automatically deleted after 30 days

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access — request a copy of your data
Deletion — request deletion of all your data
Information — ask questions about our data practices

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be noted by updating the version number and date at the top.
